Create an eye-catching bulletin board to celebrate student birthdays in your classroom.
To recognize and celebrate each of my students birthdays, I created this Birthday Bulletin Board Kit. Birthdays are a special day for all of us, but especially for our elementary students.
This bulletin board resource includes large letters to print on colored cardstock, numbers from 1-31 and picture frame type files for all twelve months. I print all the pieces on Astrobrights card stock for durability and pop. The bulletin board is quick to put together and a great focal point for our classroom. We take our birthday month photos during the first week of school and this helps build classroom community.
Never forget a birthday!
Our summer birthday students choose a month within the school year so we have the opportunity to celebrate everyone’s special day.
Birthday crowns are made out of glitter border, we sing and have treats at the end of the day. I have a special chair cover and the birthday student chooses a special pencil and a prize from the treasure box.
To fill the months of the year, I take student photos during the first week of school using my phone and then sent them to be processed using the Walgreens app. (To get prints quickly, this app has been a life saver, all the ordering can be done from your phone!) Once I get the prints back I bubble cut around their heads leaving a flat edge on the bottom and staple them into the correct month.
Typically, I set up a black plastic tablecloth for students to stand in front of when I take photos to block out background noise. Now, my new trick is to use portrait mode and the stage light setting. The iPhone 8 camera is wow, and automatically makes the background black for you!

Enjoy!
