I created these snapshots last year to send home with my 2nd-grade students. They were a great resource for both families and myself. All the reading content we are working on is contained on one page, spelling words, vocabulary, sight words, and I have added the decodable readers we will be sending home this year. Easy prep! Just print on colored paper and pop in student mailboxes. I have just uploaded them to my TpT store and you can view them here
This resource includes 30 Weekly Snapshots aligned to the HMH Journeys reading program AND… wait for it…
an EDITABLE powerpoint file for you to customize!
I would also send the file digitally to parents using the Remind app which they loved, not only did they have everything on one page, they had it on their phone. Each Monday I would just snap a photo and send it out. Easy peasy.

I use Astrobrights paper for a lot of projects and resources in the classroom. I love having a pop of color in a student take home folder and print my Weekly Snapshots on a different Astrobrights paper each week. Those bright colors make me so happy, especially in February in Montana! Here are links to two different options on Amazon, depending on my supply I have ordered both. I print a lot at home, classroom resources and last summer I printed a lot for graduate school (can I say how happy, no make that ecstatic, I am that I finished that program!) and my inkjet just wasn’t cutting it, I was constantly buying ink so I stepped it up and bought a laser printer. This was a great investment and I am so glad I made the investment. The printer I have is a Wireless Brother Digital Color Printer and I paid $250 and now it is only $169.99 #supergreatdeal!
